DESCRIPTION:Note: This class provides the foundation for all of Laurel’s Zentangle and Zentangle-Inspired Art (ZIA) offerings and is an ideal starting point for new students. \n“Introduction to Zentangle” will be taught by Laurel Storey\, CZT® (Certified Zentangle Teacher®)\, and will provide a beginner with a background in the history of Zentangle\, introduce them to the basic steps of the method\, and expose them to associated vocabulary and tools used. Students will be immersed in learning tangle patterns as they create actual Zentangle paper “tiles” and will leave with a clear understanding that\, “Anything is possible one stroke at a time.”® \nAn “Introduction to Zentangle” supply kit will be given to registered students when they arrive at class. Students may keep this kit to continue their Zentangle practice at home\, and should bring it to future classes. \nIntroductory classes run for approximately 2.5 to three hours.

Participants are given the freedom to explore the month’s project or theme\, with direction and/or instructions provided by Laurel\, or work on their own individual tangle project if desired. \nSupplies are NOT included in the cost of online Tangle Club gatherings. Students will be given a full list of suggested supplies (including alternative options)\, and may opt to either provide their own or purchase supplies online from Laurel for local (Windsor\, Ontario) pickup.

These sessions are less structured than regular Zentangle® and Zentangle-Inspired Art classes\, and are open to all regardless of previous Zentangle or creative experience. Participants are given the freedom to explore the month’s project or theme\, with direction and/or instructions provided by Laurel\, or work on their own individual tangle project if desired. \nAll required tools and supplies for the monthly project are normally provided by Laurel for use during the Tangle Club session. Participants may also wish to bring their own selection of preferred items including Pigma Micron pens\, Gelly Roll pens\, graphite pencil\, white charcoal pencil\, tortillions\, coloured pencils\, watercolours or watercolour pencils and brush\, etc. \nP.S. Ask Laurel for your own “Frequent Tangler” punch card – attend 9 Tangle Clubs and get the 10th for free!
