SUMMARY:Ten Thousand Tangles Creative Community Tangle Club
DESCRIPTION:Join Laurel Storey\, CZT® (Certified Zentangle Teacher®) for a fun\, informal opportunity to socialize and tangle together! \nTen Thousand Tangles Creative Community Tangle Club (“Tangle Club” for short) gatherings are normally held once a month on a Sunday afternoon. These sessions are less structured than regular Zentangle® and Zentangle-Inspired Art classes\, and are open to all regardless of previous Zentangle experience. Participants are given the freedom to explore the month’s project or theme\, with direction and/or instructions provided by Laurel\, or work on their own individual tangle project if desired. \nAll required tools and supplies for the monthly project are normally provided by Laurel for use during the Tangle Club session. Participants may also wish to bring their own selection of preferred items including Pigma Micron pens\, Gelly Roll pens\, graphite pencil\, white charcoal pencil\, tortillions\, coloured pencils\, watercolours or watercolour pencils and brush\, etc.

Zentangle art really comes alive with that final touch of adding your “shades of grey.” This Beyond Basics class will look into all the paths you can take with your pencil once the tangling is done. Students will learn tangles that have unique shading options and see how simple\, subtle shading techniques can transform your work and totally change the integrity of your tile. This class will isolate the shading process and show students how a single graphite pencil has the ability to produce not just one colour but many. Students will learn to add tones from the barely there grey to the darkest charcoal and everything in between. \nStudents should bring their “Introduction to Zentangle” kit to class. DESCRIPTION:Note: This class is open to anyone who has previously taken an Introduction to Zentangle class with Laurel Storey\, CZT® (Certified Zentangle Teacher®)\, or another Certified Zentangle Teacher®. \n“Beyond Basics – Shades of Grey” will be taught by Laurel Storey\, CZT® (Certified Zentangle Teacher®). Zentangle art really comes alive with that final touch of adding your “shades of grey.” This Beyond Basics class will look into all the paths you can take with your pencil once the tangling is done. Students will learn tangles that have unique shading options and see how simple\, subtle shading techniques can transform your work and totally change the integrity of your tile. This class will isolate the shading process and show students how a single graphite pencil has the ability to produce not just one colour but many. Students will learn to add tones from the barely there grey to the darkest charcoal and everything in between. \nStudents should bring their “Introduction to Zentangle” kit to class. All other required tools and supplies will be provided. \nIMPORTANT: Students wishing to sign up for all four in-person “Beyond Basics” classes offered in March and April\, 2025 may do so for a reduced price by taking advantage of the Zentangle® Beyond Basics Class Bundle – In Person option.
